Schedule Changes due to COVID-19 – Updated April 27, 2020

The Newberry

In response to the latest developments related to COVID-19, the Newberry will be closed through at least May 30 (information current as of April 27, 2020). My seminar, Russian Realist Painting and Literature (1840s – 1890s), was cancelled. The Newberry has provided refunds on a prorated basis for the cancelled sessions.

The Russian Realism Canvas classroom remains open to all registered participants until I have a chance to teach the seminar again. The Newberry has offered the opportunity to hold the seminar again in a future term.

The library will regularly post updates to their website at newberry.org/covid19. Please use that link for more information in the coming days.

Life Readers at Arlington Heights Memorial Library

The session originally scheduled for March 19, 2020 was cancelled. The remaining sessions will be held online via Zoom, including an additional session on June 18.

Our next Zoom session is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, at 7:00 pm. We plan to discuss The Idiot, Part 4.

Our last Zoom session will be on Thursday June 18, at 7:00 pm, when we will discuss Akira Kurosawa’s film The Idiot.

Participants will be emailed with instructions on how to join each session a couple of days before the session starts. All sessions will be recorded and accessible to the participants.

Please note: the Arlington Heights Memorial Library is currently closed. As of April 23, 2020, the library is scheduled to reopen on June 1, 2020. Please check the library’s website for more information at https://www.ahml.info/.

Please stay healthy, and I hope to see all of you soon again,
